We operate a material resources arrangement fee for students. For students on courses of 12 weeks or more, the cost is €40. This fee covers the hire of all course books you will use throughout your course as well as supplementary materials and photocopies and the rental of library books. For students on courses under 12 weeks, the cost is €25. All students must pay this non-refundable fee on the first day of class.

ELA REFUND POLICY/TERMS AND CONDITIONS 2017 – 2018
On receipt of your Booking Confirmation & Invoice you should be aware that full payment of all fees payment must be received by English Language Academy (ELA) at least 30 days before your arrival. If you are booking less than 30 days before arrival, full payment is required immediately. All accommodation other than in a host family will need to be paid immediately at the time of booking to guarantee the booking. English Language Academy (ELA) reserves the right to cancel course and accommodation bookings, where we have not received full payment within the specified time frame. In order to book accommodation, flight details must be received.
FEES:Accommodation placement fees, registration fees and airport pick up fees are non-refundable. If you cancel your course up to 30+ days before it’s commencement a full refund will be given less 10% cancellation fees. If you cancel your course less than 30 days and up to 15 days before your course commences 50% of the tuition fees will be refunded. If you cancel your course between 14 days and 1 day before your course commences, you will receive a refund of 25% of your tuition fees. No refund will be given if you cancel your course on or after the start date of your course, or if your Student Visa is granted. If the required visa is not granted, a full refund of tuition fees will be made less 10% for administration purposes, provided that sufficient evidence of visa refusal is given to English Language Academy, by the refusing Authority. Once the Course commences or the visa is granted, fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Once you arrive in Ireland and have your passport stamped by the Immigration Police at the airport you are deemed to have crossed into Irish jurisdiction and no refund applies. All ELA Courses are non-transferable and non-refundable. All deposits are non-refundable. If you make changes to your course after you have started, you are required to provide a minimum of 4 weeks’ notice (i.e. transfers, deferrals or early course completions). Applications for refunds must be sent in writing to: The Director of Studies, English Language Academy (ELA) 73, Capel Street, Dublin 1. The refund process normally takes 20 days. Students who are requesting refunds must provide valid justification for cancelling their Course i.e. a medical certificate. All refunds are handled on a case by case basis, and are subject to the discretion of the Directors. Any falsifying of documents in order to acquire a visa will be result in no refund being paid. If your request for a refund is successful, the refund will be paid into the student’s bank account 20 days, after the refund request is received by ELA. The Director’s decision is final. There will be a deduction of 10% for administration purposes. English Language Academy (ELA) reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee for all courses and services which we provide. If you wish to change your course start date, there is a fee of €75.00 per change.
AIRPORT PICK UP:All airport pick up fees are non-refundable. If your airline flight details change, please give us as much notice as possible. If you give us less than 24 hour’s notice, you will incur another airport transfer fee charge. From the time your flight lands, the airport pick service is only valid for one hour and 30 minutes. You will find your pick up agent at the Meeting Point in the Arrivals Hall. He/she will have a card saying “ENGLISH LANGUAGE ACADEMY-ELA and/or your name”. ELA is not responsible for transfers after this time (1 hr 30mins) elapses.
GENERAL:Any specials applied to the original enrolment will take place at the end of the Course. In the event of exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness or bereavement, a study credit for study weeks is granted. It includes only paid weeks remaining and is valid for a period of 6 months from the date of issue only. A study credit has no monetary value. The study credit will expire six months past the start date, or on the expiry date of the visa, whatever comes first. English Language Academy (ELA) will not accept students under the age of 18 years of age.

ACCOMMODATION:Accommodation fees are non-refundable except in the case of host family where at least 4 weeks’ written notice is required to cancel some or all of the pre-booked accommodation. In the case of host family accommodation a two week notice period is non-refundable. The balance of any host family accommodation fees will be refunded. Accommodation placement fees are non-refundable. It is not possible to book Host Family Accommodation over the Christmas and New Year Holiday (2-week holiday period). Accommodation placement fees are non-refundable.
DISCLAIMER: The Law requires student visa holders to inform English Language Academy of any change of address within 7 days and other changes thereafter. Student details may be made available to the Irish Garda National Immigration Bureau (G.N.I.B.):- (i) Certain changes to the student’s enrolment (ii) Any breach by the student of a student visa condition relating to attendance.
GENERAL INFORMATION:Under the terms of a student visa, students are not permitted to take any holidays until they have completed eight weeks of their course and all holidays must be booked in advance. The minimum holiday period must be for at least four weeks. Students are not allowed to change class times during their course. ELA accepts no responsibility for national holidays or school holidays occurring during a student’s programme i.e. Christmas and New Year’s School Holidays, Easter, St. Patrick’s etc. ELA closes for two weeks at Christmas and Easter time and two weeks, of the 8 week holiday period must be reserved if a student’s course takes place at this time of year. No study credit is granted for days when the School is closed. It is the responsibility of all students to register and pay for an external exam at the beginning of their study programme. Students must consent to the use of any photographs, or videos which are released for promotional use by English Language Academy (ELA). ELA uses nearby premises (Teachers Club on Parnell Square), for classes during peak periods.
-All students must be aware that they will be tested on or before the commencement of their chosen course, and will then be placed in an appropriate English language level. All students must pay the materials resource fee on or before arrival, which is non-refundable.
-All students must complete all class work, assignments, activities and assessments in order to maintain satisfactory progress.
-Students must attend at least 85% of their Course, and if they fail to do so, will be reported to G.N.I.B. This will affect a student’s ability of remaining in Ireland as a student. All students must inform English Language Academy immediately if they change address, telephone number or email addres
-Students cannot change to another College during their Course without a written letter of release from ELA, and permission from G.N.I.B/I.N.I.S.
-All students must agree to abide by the Rules and Regulations of English Language Academy (ELA) as laid down in the Student Handbook and must also agree to the terms of the Refund Policy / Terms and conditions and Irish Immigration law.
Personal information about students may be shared with GNIB. This information may include personal and contact details, course enrolment details and changes, and circumstances of any suspected breach by the student of a student visa condition. Information about student’s Courses and progress may also be shared with the student’s recruiting agents and Immigration agents as required.
-English Language Academy reserves the right to change its fees and conditions, cancel or defer courses, and to alter course timetables and class locations at any time without notice.
-All students must sit an external proficiency exam at the end of their course i.e. TIE, FCE, CAE, IELTS, etc. The Exam fee must be paid before the student commences the course. This is an immigration requirement. All students must also pay a material resources fee. All exam fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.
-ELA reserves the right to expel any student whose behaviour is inappropriate. This also includes any student who engages in illegal or criminal activities and/or is arrested by the Irish Police (Gardaí), for same. Under any of the above circumstances, no refund shall be due in respect of any unused portion of a Course or Programme or any accommodation.
