ENGLISH LANGUAGE ACADEMY REFUND POLICY 2012-2013
REFUND POLICY (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY) ENROLMENT (Course Registration Fees) and Accommodation Placement Fees for Homestay /Hostel Fees are non-refundable. HOMESTAY /HOSTEL FEES If written cancellation is received 14 days prior to your arrival at the Homestay or Hostel a 50% cancellation fee applies. If you cancel your accommodation request once you are in your accommodation, a minimum of two weeks’ rent is to be paid. You must give at least two weeks’ notice if you wish to change your accommodation. Student flight details must be received to begin the placement process. Once flight details are received, the Homestay placement service may take up to 10 working days. AIRPORT PICKUP FEES: If written cancellation is received 7 days prior to airport pickup a 50% cancellation fee applies. If your airline flight details change, please give us as much notice as possible. If you give us less than 24 hours notice, you will incur another airport transfer fee. From the time your flight lands the airport pick service is only valid for one hour and 30 minutes only . You will find your pick up agent outside the DAA Information Desk in the Arrivals Hall. He/she will have a card saying “ENGLISH LANGUAGE ACADEMY-ELA and/or your name”. The School is not responsible for transfers after this time elapses.
TUITION FEES: No refund will be given if you cancel your course on or after the date of commencement of your course or if your Student Visa is granted. All ELA Courses are non-transferable and non-refundable. All deposits are non-refundable. If you make changes to your course after you have started, you are required to provide a minimum of 4 weeks notice (i.e. transfers, deferrals or early course completions). If the required visa is not granted, a full refund of tuition fees will be made less 20% for administration purposes, provided that sufficient evidence of visa refusal is given to English Language Academy by the refusing Authority. Once the Course commences or the visa is granted, fees are non- refundable. Applications for refunds must be sent in writing to: The Director of Studies, English Language Academy (ELA) Zhivago Building, 73, Capel Street, Dublin 1. The refund process normally takes 30 days. Students who are requesting refunds must provide valid justification for cancelling their Course i.e. a medical certificate/visa refusal letter from GNIB. The refund will be paid into the student’s bank account 30 days after the refund is requested. There will be a deduction of 20% for administration purposes. English Language Academy (ELA) reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee for all courses and services which we provide.
GENERAL: Any specials applied to the original enrolment will take place at the end of the Course. If, due to exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness or bereavement, a study credit for study weeks is granted, it will include only paid weeks remaining and will be valid for a period of 6 months from the date of issue only. English Language Academy does not accept students under the age of 16 years of age (except on a Junior Summer School Programme). DISCLAIMER: The Law requires student visa holders to inform English Language Academy of any change of address within 7 days and other changes thereafter. Student details may be made available to the Irish Garda National Immigration Bureau (G.N.I.B.):- (i) Certain changes to the student’s enrolment (ii) Any breach by the student of a student visa condition relating to attendance.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS (please read carefully) - All students must be aware that they will be tested on or before the commencement of their chosen course, and will then be placed in an appropriate English language level. For FETAC Courses students .the minimum entry requirement is Intermediate English.
- All students must complete all class work, assignments, activities and assessments in order to maintain satisfactory progress.
- Students must attend at least 85% of their Course, and if they fail to do so, they may be reported to the G.N.I.B.
-All students must inform English Language Academy immediately if they change address or telephone numbers.
- Students cannot change to another school during their Course without a written letter of release from English Language Academy (ELA Ireland).
- All students must agree to abide by the Rules and Regulations of English Language Academy and the terms of the School’s Refund Policy
- Personal information about students may be shared with the GNIB. This information may include personal * contact details, course enrolment details, circumstances of any suspected breach of a student visa condition. Information about the student’s progress may also be shared with the student’s recruiting agents & GNIB as required.
-ELA reserves the right to change its fees and conditions, cancel or defer courses, and to alter course timetables and class locations at any time without notice.
-The School is not responsible for the granting of visas.Buying a course does not necessarily grant you a visa.
